DETAIL - DISTORTION - ILLUSION - PATTERN
These 4 elements are the driving forces behind my artwork. For example, I am intrigued by the detail of a simple line that can be distorted to create the illusion of a face. I use the detail of wrinkles on paper to distort an image and create the illusion of an actual crumpled piece of paper. I create the illusion of chrome by focusing on details that are being reflected and distorted.
I am most often fascinated and inspired by seemingly simple, mundane details. I find beauty in these everyday patterns. I hope that those who see my work will find a new appreciation for the beautiful details that might be overlooked in their everyday lives.
I graduated from Southern Utah University in April of 2017, and received my Bachelor of Science in Art with a Museum Studies and Art History minor.
